July 18, 2022, Bronx, NY: Bronx-based powerhouses Clean Rite Center and Bronx Native come together to bring the neighborhood “The Laundry Experience.” This unlikely duo is producing the ultimate laundry day event that combines entertainment and a party vibe with the household task of laundry during this unique and spirited event. Located at 1240 East Tremont Avenue in The Bronx, one of over 40 Clean Rite Center mega laundromats found throughout the boroughs of New York, The Laundry Experience promises to be a high-octane event with over 100 loads of laundry in motion, local performers and artists, DJ set, local eats, kids arts and crafts and comic drawing with Creative 1 Comics, raffles to be won, and more!
Produced by Bronx Native, the high-profile community-based brand that highlights and showcases the beautiful Borough of The Bronx through art, media, original apparel, and immersive experiences, The Laundry Experience is the latest event that illustrates the Bronx Native’s capacity to create social impact and experiences that empowers and changes the narratives in our communities. Bronx Native creator/visionary Amaurys Grullon continues to push the envelope and embrace all aspects of the community – including a laundromat, a place that plays a significant role in many people’s daily lives.
The Laundry Experience will feature the local non-profit organization Meta Bronx. Meta Bronx leads entrepreneurship education programs, and startup accelerators focused on women, people of color, LGBTQ+, and members of cultural minority groups, supporting inventors of technology-based solutions for large-scale problems.
Clean Rite Center, a subsidiary of Laundry Capital Co. LLC, pioneered the laundromat “super store” concept and is the largest operator of retail laundromats in the United States, including 40 locations in the New York boroughs and more than 30 locations across New England, Maryland, and Ohio. Clean Rite Center’s community-driven ethos is deeply rooted in a number of youth enrichment initiatives and collaborative efforts with such New York organizations as Qualitas, the New York Public Library, United Federation of Teachers, Safe In My Brothers’ Arms, All Sisters Evolving Together, Explore Schools, Family Life Academy Charter Schools, and so many more. Most notably, Clean Rite Center (1348 Southern Blvd, Bronx) unveiled its building mural, a memorial to remember the victims of the recent Twin Parks apartment fire. The mural was commissioned by Laundry Capital and created by local artist group Tats Cru and is a moving tribute to the victims and the community that supports their families.
